From: Chuck Weinstock <Weinstock@TL-20B.ARPA> I regularly get information on Amtrak which I will start to pass along unless anyone objects: The Carolinan, running between Raleigh and Charlotte started service on Sunday, with a formal "christening" on Monday. The train is a 403(b) train, with NC paying 45% of any operating loss this first year and 65% thereafter. The train will be serviced in New York (the nearest maintenance facility). Normal equipment will be one locomotive and three cars (one a amcafe). -------
