The new Regency unit has the best specs of the three I am aware of (Radio Shack and the Bearcat are the only others I know about.) Has anyone had experience with it or the others? Also there is some industrial quality programmable receiver (but not scanner) known as the AR33. It has fantastic specs, but I've only found one source for it, and the price seems outrageous.
