(For those of you who've never been to Pittsburgh, this is the line with 9%+ grades. Also, the 1600 series cars have air brakes as well as electric brakes. With an air compressor on board, they have pneumatic sanders. The <slightly> newer 1700 series cars are all electric, and depend on mere gravity to get the sand to the rails.) By the way, SL0D, how's life in the subway?
