[comp.sys.ibm.ps2.hardware] Adding additional hard disk and memory to IBM PS/2 Model 50Z - Query

Hello:

One of my friend has an IBM/PS2 Model 50Z with 30MB hard disk and 1MB memory.
He wants to add another hard disk to get a total of about 80MB and add a
2MB memory module to get a total of 3MB. When he called a local computer retail
store, he was told that he has to replace the old hard disk (toss it?) and put
a 60MB hard disk for a price of about $750. To increase the memory also the
same story, he has to remove the 1MB he has now and put a 2MB for a price of
about $250.

I am wondering if there is any other less expensive (he doesn't want to just
toss away the hard disk he has now if possible) option to the one suggested by
the retailer?

Any advice/suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
