We have a situation that I'm hoping others can help with. We have a PS/2 model 70 running OS/2 EE 1.2 and which is hooked up to a mainframe using Communications manager and a token ring card. Mainframe connectivity is no problem. The problem comes when trying to do screen prints. The printer is an HP ThinkJet printer (single colour ink jet printer). When one does a screen print, every other line is split with a line of white space. Very difficult to read. The problem? Calling HP to ask for a printer driver came up with the response that we needed to contact our software company to get them to provide the proper driver for the HP printer. Calling the vendor (IBM, since it is communications manager portion of the operating system) revealed that they don't have drivers for all printers and that we should contact HP to get a driver which will work for the OS/2 CM. Right. Can you say, 'finger pointing'? How can you help? Does anyone have this configuration (OS/2 and an HP ThinkJet printer) who has seen and overcome this problem? Does anyone know what the HP ThinkJet will emulate exactly? Epson LX? FX? LQ? E-mail to me or post. I read both. - tom -- internet : mvac23!thomas@udel.edu or thomas%mvac23@udel.edu (home) : 4398613@mcimail.com (work) uucp : {ucbvax,mcvax,psuvax1,uunet}!udel!mvac23!thomas Location : Newark, DE, USA Quote : I know how to spell banana, I just don't know when to stop -- The UUCP Mailer
