We just got a new lab in, and we're having some problems with the Model 80's SCSI card and a Model 70's 8514/a display card. Both these cards use the C0000 area of high memory in a place where our Ethernet cards must sit. Is there any way to move the memory location used by these cards? Questions about IBM SCSI, just how compatible is it; can I buy a 3rd party SCSI drive and just hook it up? What cables and formatting software would I need to get? We are running a 8515 monitor of the 8514/a adapter card, but it looks just like normal VGA. Is there any way to get it to display character output with smaller fonts and higher resolution? Thanks, any help would be apreciated, we are pretty new to P/S 2's. --- Ah Love! Installation was painless, EXCEPT for the cable. I made my own - no support. BE SURE TO PLAN AHEAD. The lack of support waas do to simple ignorance - SCSI is "new" to most folks. The internal cable was quite easy. Just get the right connectors and match pin 1 with pin 1 and away she goes. BUT . . . I'm still working on getting AIX to recognize the disk. I have gotten instructions for several people on how to go about it, and will post the results - when in. hh -- Harry Haas GTRI/RIDL/DB "What makes it DO that!?" - Bones Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 uucp: ...!{decvax,hplabs,ncar,purdue,rutgers}!gatech!prism!hh2 Internet: hh2@prism.gatech.edu hhaas@{gtri01|rmadsun}.gatech.edu
