Hello, we've had problems booting with a second disk installed on a IBM PS/2 system running AIX 1.2 (1008). The system was configured to boot from the build in SCSI fixed disk. Everything worked fine. Than we added a second unconfigured (empty) SCSI disk to the system. Now the system doesn't booted any more. Everytime we tried we ended in the BASIC of the boot-ROM (uhhhg!). How must I configure a System to boot with an empty second disk installed and powered on. Thanks in advance, -Michael Kuschke -- Michael Kuschke e-mail : tb@materna.uucp Dr. Materna GmbH VOX : +49 231 5599 200 Vosskuhle 37 D-4600 Dortmund 1, West Germany

Be certain that the second SCSI drive has an id different from that of the first and from the controller. Also be certain that the only terminating resistors are on the last device in the chain. This is likely your problem as it sounds as if the bios is not finding any drive. Regards, Ed
