[comp.sys.ibm.ps2.hardware] How to configure a PS/2 model 50 for using ext/expanded memory?

dorenbos@dnlunx.pttrnl.nl (Dorenbos M.C.M.) (02/26/91)

We want to configure an IBM PC (model 50) for using extended and expanded
memory at the same time. We tried using XMA2EMS.SYS, but we had not much
success with this. No errors were reported during the boot process, but
eventually the machine would hang and a cold boot was necessary. One program
reported more extended/expanded memory than physical available! Apparently we
are doing something wrong. Can somebody give us a clue how to configure such
a machine?

Configuration:
MsDOS 4.01
IBM PS/2 model 50
3072 kilobytes memory available
DEMCA card (ethernet controller card from Digital)
IBM terminal emulation card

Thank you very much,
