I am in the market for a memory manager for may model 55sx. It has 4MB of ram and I am running IBM DOS 4.0 and MS Windows 3.0. After loading up DOS and all of the Windows' drivers (among others), I am not left with much DOS memory. Has anyone had any experiences with the new Windows-compatable memory managers out there like QEMM386, and BlueMax by Qualitas?. BlueMax seems like the obvious choice, being designed with the ps/2's memory specifically in mind. From what I heard, parts of the ps/2's BIOS was created to work with OS2 and takes up more space when loaded into high memory. BlueMax is supposed to compress this part of the BIOS, which is not used by DOS, to make more room in high memory for device drivers. Do these memory managers actually improve on the performance of Windows?Has anyone run into problems like incompatability with certain programs, system crashes, sharing violations, etc.?? I would be very thankful for a comments that anyone has on this subject. By the way, I noticed the other day on GEnie that Adlib had a MicroChannel version of its sound board out. I was browsing around in one of the on-line shopping services. I believe the board went for around $160.
