[comp.sys.ibm.ps2.hardware] PS/2 configurations

I am very unfamiliar with the PS/2 product line.
Could someone tell me what assumptions can be made about
various PS/2 systems, such as system board, disk type, etc.
This case specifically refers to a Model 30, but I don't know
any more specifics about it.
What I need to know is:
1. Is the system board a standard XT form factor, and can I
replace it with any clone board the same size?
2. Does it have the PS/2 mini-din style keyboard connector,
mouse port on the motherboard, serial/parallel on the mb,
VGA or IDE host built in, etc.
3. If I replaced the motherboard with a clone, would I have to
add these items (I/O board, VGA board, disk controller)
4. What size disk bays does it have (just 3-1/2"? how many?)

In other words, would someone be better off starting over with
a new box if they want to upgrade and can't afford "Big Blue"??

Thanks,
