[comp.sys.ibm.ps2.hardware] Model 70 Hard Drive Expansion

gb8@prism.gatech.EDU (BEEBE,GARY E) (06/19/91)

I am in search of information on the currently
available options for expanding the harddrive capabilities
of a Model 70 E61. I have heard that there are 120M drop-in
replacements available for the E61's 60M drive, but, I don't
know where to look (i.e. Manufacturer, Part #) and I don't
trust mail order enough to shell out >$500 ($1000?) without
knowing that the drive will work in my machine. Are there
external harddrives that can be used with a Model 70? An
external drive with a MCA interface card is a perfectly
acceptable solution.
Any information that could be mailed to me would be
appreciated. Thanks in advance.
                                  Gary

There are at least 5 "reasonable" offers for PS/2 hard drives in the latest
edition of Computer Shopper.
Hint : Use the Index at the back to avoid spending a decade leafing through
that forest-killer of a magazine.
