Could somebody please tell me what error 10456 means when running the IBM diagnostics on a PS/2 Model 80. I am having troubles installing netware when there is 1 disk attached to the ESDI controller (IBM) and 1 disk attached to the Adaptec SCSI controller. The netware says ABEND: Error Reading the Disk Parameter Information and the self test utils on the reference disk seem to think that there are 2(!) ESDI disks attached to the ESDI controller when there are only 1! Actually running the test gives the error Slot=7 2 ESDI Fixed Disk(s) 10456 ESDI Fixed disk controller error What is happening here? Is it possible to run an IBM ESDI controller with an Adaptec SCSI (1640) controller? It sort of works but seems to die when trying to read the disk parameters of the non-existant ESDI second drive.
