[comp.os.os2.programmer] Removing PM interface from OS/2 1.2

I would like to run OS/2 1.2 on a monochrome adapter. Although the documen-
tation says I can do this, the system hangs when I boot. I imagine it is
trying to display graphics for me.

Does anyone know how to disable the PM interface and still be able to do
task switching (via Ctrl-ESC, etc.)? I've tried placing CMD.EXE in the
CONFIG.SYS for the PROTSHELL, but that doesn't seem to give me more than
one session.

A long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) there used to be OS/2 1.0, which
used a task manager written using the EZVU-II for OS/2 (EZVU-II is the DOS
counterpart to ISPF on VM/MVS). If you can still find it, you can use it
for the PROTSHELL, and eliminate PM altogether.
