[bionet.users.addresses] Running LDBASE through a batch job by Mail

HARPER@finfun.bitnet ("Robert Harper ", Finland) (05/31/90)

Now believe it or not the UK can not do "interactive" messages
to the rest of Europe, and Internet nodes are also limited when
it comes to working "interactively". So this limits certain people
if they want to do searches of the lists at IRLEARN.

It would also seem that some people are more comfortable using mail
than doing things "interactively"... so this message is for
those of you who want to query BIO+NAUT by mail.

All that you need to do is send a batch job to LISTSERV@IRLEARN, and
the output of your job will be returned to you as DATABASE.OUTPUT

Here is a basic batch job which should be sent to LISTSERV@IRLEARN
It will pull out entries for different countries. If your country is
not included then just add it into the batch job as
SEARCH COUNTRY IN BIO+NAUT
INDEX
and if there are any hits then you will get a report of it in the
DATABASE.OUTPUT. You could place a standing order with LISTSERV, by
sending your BATCH JOB once per month, and you would be informed of
any new additions to the bio+naut database.
