[bionet.users.addresses] "Telestroika"

harper@csc.fi (09/11/90)

Well it was bound to happen that Russia has joined Usenet. If you
look at the internet address of the next posting you will see that
it has the subdomain SU (Soviet Union).

It is just a pity that the first posting was to EUNET.JOKES
cos it makes you wonder if it really is a joke... but I think
not for the path is coming into FUUG which is the Finnish Unix
Users Group.

The subject matter is also "topical" and "Russian". I would not be surprised
that hq was a short for for "headquarters":-)

Anyway I think it is an interesting enough post about "telestrokia"
(I think I will copyright that word) to post it here on BIONAUT.

Check it out for yourselves.

I've heard a quite similar anecdot:

Capitalism and Communism are waiting for Socialism. --
Time passes. -- Socialism comes to the place.
Socialism: "Sorry, guys; I was standing in queue for meat!"
Capitalism: "What's a queue?"
Communism: "What's meat?"

In the same vein:
Capitalism is standing at the brink of a deep chasm! [K. Marx]
-- And looking what socialism is doing at the bottom.

	(It is NOT a joke!)
