I've noticed a lot of requests for addresses recently, and I thought that I'd pass along the trick I use to find addresses. Perhaps the system managers who read this can tell me if this is an acceptable method, or if I should stop. Many institutions have a file of Internet or BITNET node names of thousands of universities and research institutions floating around on some directory on the system. The HELP processor even may tell you how to locate and SEARCH this file. I usually dig up the name of the node of a machine at the institution and send a polite request to "POSTMASTER@NODE_NAME" asking if xxx has an account there. I always get a reply the next day, usually with an email address. cheers, John, -------------------------------------------------------------- John H.E.
