[bionet.users.addresses] INTERNET LIBRARY... what about BITNET?

D31%TRANAVM1@PUCC.PRINCETON.EDU (suleyman aydin) (12/01/90)

Thanks a lot ROB, again reminding the Internet library problem for me.
I am on a Bitnet site and can not get in INTERNET yet..

so, is there any solution for me that enables me to use those FREE libraries?

till now, i could not manage to use them... and lost all my hope about it.

As being a network wizard, what can you advise me to do ROB(our friendly
 listowner/FINFUN) ?

I have to note that there are many friends curious about the answer of this
 question. Thanks a lot..........

Sorry to say that I do not know of any way to use the INTERNET
Library resources from BITNET. The INTERNET LIBRARY document
states that you should use TELNET to access the library... so
if you do not have TCP/IP protocols then it is pretty
impossible to establish contact. However if you have TELNET on
your mainframe then it is very easy to use the libraries.
Here is an example with HOLLIS, at Harvard University.

******* DEMO RUN FROM FINLAND TO HARVARD *****

$ telnet 128.103.60.31
Trying.
Connected 128.103.60.31.

Waiting for HOST to establish SESSION
