I know BITNET policy discourages (note, I said 'discourages,' not 'bans;' I am aware of the various types of exceptions) commercial, profit-making companies from parcipitating in BITNET. How does CREN officialdom (as well as the rest of us out here) feel about professional organizations (American Statistical Association, American Psychological Association, etc)? Are any already members?

Are any already members? CREN encourages professional organizations (at least the non-profit ones) to join and to use its networks! They're treated like universities, for dues. Several are already members and users. Jim
