I'm using UK-sendmail configuration kit version 2.1 to run a gateway here at Keele. I am currently using UK-1.4 for the slave configuration of a number of suns and another microvax. Using 1.4 I was able to declare a list of ethernet hosts under our domain name so that the slave's could send mail direct to local machines. I then made sure that mail to any other host was sent to the gateway. This had the nice side effect that if a new ethernet host was added, the slaves could still get mail to it because they would send the mail to the gateway. Under 2.1 I can't seem to get the same effect. I can declare a list of ethernet hosts alright, and any host that is not under our domain is correctly sent to the gateway. However any hosts that are in our domain which are not listed are rejected immediately and not sent to the gateway. Can anyone suggest a suitable configuration to achieve what I had before? ...... Problem 2. Occasionally I get mail from sites which have 'cs' in their address. For example cs.vl.nl. When the mail arrives however sendmail appears to play with it and alters it to: uk.ac.kl.cs.vl.nl which is complete rubbish. I have the 'show local domain' option switched on and this could be the cause of the problem. Usually this occurs on addresses which have a top domain that I haven't got in my top.dom file. This happens on both the gateway machine and the slaves. Any help would be appreciated. -- ______ JANET :jonathan@uk.ac.keele.cs Jonathan Knight, / BITNET:jonathan%cs.kl.ac.uk@ukacrl Department of Computer Science / _ __ other :jonathan@cs.keele.ac.uk University of Keele, Keele, (_/ (_) / / UUCP :...!ukc!kl-cs!jonathan Staffordshire.
