SIGDA WORKSHOPS & SYMPOSIUM
SIGDA is interested in greatly expanding our professional programs. We
have sponsored a number of outstanding workshops each year. Their success
has allowed highly motivated Design Automation specialist to exchange
technical incites with their peers from around the world. We are inviting
DA technologists to propose either a Workshop or a Symposium. SIGDA is
interested in assisting the development of additional technical gatherings
and will assist the Chairperson and the other members of her/his team with
the logistics. SIGDA through our sponsorship of the ACM office will assist
with items such as site arrangement, budgets, and registration. SIGDA's
objective is to allow the organizers to concentrate on a superior technical
program.
The organizers may choose to propose a workshop or a symposium. A workshop
is normally a small gathering (50-75) and concentrates on a very limited
technical area. The Workshop normally does not publish a proceeding in
order to encourage an open exchange of ideas. A symposium often has open
attendance in an area of wider technical interest. Symposia normally publish
proceedings or technical digests. The symposium should incorporate a peer
review process to select those papers which will be presented. Both forums,
however, should not conflict with either the Design Automation Conference
(DAC) or the International Conference on CAD (ICCAD).
The proposals may be in areas of practice such as:
VHDL MODELING
APPLICATION SPECIFIC CAD
MANAGEMENT OF DESIGN DATA BASES
or in emerging theoretical areas such as:
ANALOG DESIGN SYNTHESIS
DESIGN PORTIONING
3 DIMENSIONAL PLACEMENT & ROUTING
Proposals need not be elaborate but should include the following information:
Type of gathering, Area of technical concentration, Chairperson & Technical
Program Chairperson with short biographies to demonstrate technical
excellence in the subject, Geographical area in which the gathering is to
be held along with potential dates, and a preliminary budget which identifies
the number of attendees and the level of registration fees that is expected
to cover the cost of the gathering. Please submit your proposals to both:
