I want an IC layout tool to generate cif files for very simple designs with non-manhattan/non-45-degrees (i.e. arbitrary angles) geometries. Preferably it should run on a Sun, pc-AT(286/386/clone) or maybe even a vax. The features & capabilities could be very limited as long as it allowed the arbitrary angles and cif output. We have Magic on our sun, and chipgraph on a mentor, but they won't do the job. Any leads would be appreciated. - Harry Langenbacher harry%neuron1@jpl-mil.jpl.nasa.gov elroy!neuron1.Jpl.Nasa.Gov!harry@ames.arc.nasa.gov my Opinions aren't anyone else's, and they probably shouldn't be - Harry Langenbacher harry%neuron1@jpl-mil.jpl.nasa.gov elroy!neuron1.Jpl.Nasa.Gov!harry@ames.arc.nasa.gov

KIC2 might do what you want, depending on what kind of performance you require. I think it's in the DECUS library, though there should be newer versions available from other sources. I have a contact in an Irish University that had a heavily enhanced version a few years ago, mail me if you want and I will dig the name out. -- Aedan Coffey, Digital Equipment International, Dublin, Ireland.
