[comp.lsi.cad] non-Manhattan layout tool

harry@neuron1.Jpl.Nasa.Gov (Harry Langenbacher) (08/25/89)

I want an IC layout tool to generate cif files for very simple
designs with non-manhattan/non-45-degrees (i.e. arbitrary angles)
geometries. Preferably it should run on a Sun, pc-AT(286/386/clone)
or maybe even a vax. The features & capabilities could be very limited
as long as it allowed the arbitrary angles and cif output.

We have Magic on our sun, and chipgraph on a mentor,
but they won't do the job.
	Any leads would be appreciated.

my Opinions aren't anyone else's, and they probably shouldn't be

KIC2 might do what you want, depending on what kind of performance you require.
I think it's in the DECUS library, though there should be newer versions
available from other sources. I have a contact in an Irish University that had
a heavily enhanced version a few years ago, mail me if you want and I will dig
the name out.
