I designed several chips with the PC version of L-Edit before the Mac
version was out. Both are quite nice, and nearly identical, including
compatible files. (-: The PC version is nice because it is very Mac-like.
If you have to use a PC, this is the program for you. :-) On the Mac,
the DRC is still weak (it flattens the cell and checks N objects in N^2
time), but is more useful due to the larger memory space. Tanner tells me
improvements are being worked on.

In general, L-Edit is simple, fast, and flexible, not all-powerful like
Magic or Oct. It is very good and quick at reading and writing CIF, and
now includes arbitrary polygons (Mac version 2.01 and whatever the current
PC version is) and unlimited number of layers.
