Hi all! I am currently working on a project to investigate the use of object-oriented concepts and systems in the implementation of CAD tools, for digital systems from board-level down to VLSI. I anticipate that major topics will include o Data modelling of digital components using OO concepts o OO DBMS's that can enforce the required relationships between design representations - and so ensure design integrity o How flexibilty and extensibility of OO systems can be used to allow easier and faster adaptation - to keep up with a fast-moving technology However I intend to take a fairly broad approach - covering CAD issues such as version control, rapid prototyping, simulation tools, design capture etc.. Any references, ideas, info, advice etc. would be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail (or snail!), I will forward to anyone interested or summarize to the net if interest is high. Thanks in advance, Mark. ______________________________________________________________________________ Mark Rivers Dept. of Computer Science, Chadwick Tower, markr@uk.ac.liv.cs.mva University of Liverpool, markr%mva.cs.liv.ac.uk@cunyvm.cuny.edu P.O.
