An ongoing research project at the University of Texas is building a software engineering tool to let people specify programs in a graphical language. The graphs are visually similar to hierarchical flowcharts, dataflow diagrams, VLSI designs, etc. Question: Is there a standard file format that we should be using to represent the positions of the graph components on the screen? One that will allow us to interface with other graph-processing software that we might find useful? One that we will find computationally convenient? Other reasons? Replies by e-mail appreciated. I'll mail a summary of responses to anyone who's interested (or post if volume warrants it). Paul C. Clements University of Texas at Austin clements@cs.utexas.edu
