[comp.lsi.cad] Status of SuperCrystal?

soohong@guardian.cs.psu.EDU (Soohong Kim) (03/27/91)

Hello.
Does anyone know if SuperCrystal from U.C. Berkeley is available for users
outside the university?
SuperCrystal is a MOS VLSI circuit simulation program described in a
paper titled "Simulating MOS VLSI Circuits Using SuperCrystal" in Proc. of
VLSI '87. Auhors are Romy L. Bauer, Anthony P-C Ng, Arvind Raghunathan,
Mark W. Saake, and Clark D. Thompson.
If you happen to know how to contact any of the authors, I'd appreciate
such information.

What other timing/simulation programs are popular (except spice and Lsim)?
I am in need of rather accurately measuring delays through moderately sized
circuits (100 to 1000 transistors), but spice is way too slow and it is very
usual to fail to converge. SCS's Lsim, in ADEPT mode, is too slow either.
Crystal, on the other hand, is fast but is too inaccurate. Is there any
other simulators/timing analyzers would you recommend?
Am I asking for the moon?

Thank you.
