Announcing Free Software:
Viewing Tool for Spice, CAzM, HILO, RNL, ESIM
Sigview 3.0
Sigview, a graphical tool written in C and running under X11, allows the
user to view data from the files produced by the above-named simulators
as waveforms. Users of previous Sigview versions will be happy to hear
that Sigview 3.0 contains a new mode which handles AC and transfer analysis
data in a much more sensible way--including doing Fourier transforms and
arbitrary math expressions over vectors of real-valued data.
Other features:
-- superimpose waveforms (even when produced by different simulators)
-- display digital data (1s and 0s) as a bus (hex, octal, decimal values)
-- scroll through and zoom in on data segments
-- search for patterns in digital data
-- hardcopy from certain Tektronix, HP, Postscript devices
-- track the slope of a curve and the values along a curve
-- plots families of characteristic curves
Sigview has previously been distributed under license, but due to major
cuts in state funding, the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina will
no longer be supporting it. The source and documentation are available
via anonymous ftp from:
machine: mcnc.mcnc.org
network address: 128.109.130.3
login: anonymous
passwd: guest
directory: pub/sigview
The developer of the tool wishes to thank all the users of Sigview 1.0
and 2.0 for all their creative suggestions and timely bug reports over
the last couple years.
