A long time ago (9 yrs.) I kludge something together so as to traslate ascii file to a trascii file on VAX/VMS. Then, using the copy command I could make a "trascii" tape (no time at that time to do tdx, esp. when this worked) that could be read on a Sentry tester. I've changed jobs (7 years ago) and now have a need to do exactly the same thing, except from a unix box (Sun and/or 386/Esix). I think I have a ascii --> trascii program (8 bit to 6 bit) working, but do ** NOT ** know how to make a tape via dd. I'm also sorta confused about "\n" in trascii. I'd appreciate any and all help, suggestions, hand holding, etc. !! Please send email as all the news doesn't always filter through to me. Thanks in advance !!
