[comp.lsi] SPICE parameters from the MOSIS Service

SHEU@C.ISI.EDU (Bing Jay Sheu) (09/21/87)

There have been quite a lot of interest on the SPICE parameters
provided by the MOSIS Service. I would like to add some information to
this topic.

At present, MOSIS provides SPICE parameters for the LEVEL-2 and
LEVEL-4 (BSIM) models. The LEVEL-2 model parameters are
available for the 3-um and 2-um technologies, while the LEVEL-4
parameters are available for the 2-um and 1.2-um technologies.

     General-purpose parameter-extraction programs, such as
SUXES from Stanford U. and TECAP-3 from H.-P. are used to extract
the LEVEL-2 parameters. The BSIM_extract software, which is dedicated
to the LEVEL-4 model, is used to extract the LEVEL-4 model parameters.
The new release of the TECAP-3 program also provides the option
of LEVEL-4 model parameter extraction.

Since MOSIS is committed to serve its users well, there
have been efforts inside MOSIS on the possible
improvement of parameter extraction and efforts to search for better SPICE
models.

I am involved in these efforts and would like to hear your
suggestions.

     Cheers.
