Magic has indeed been ported to the HP9000/300s. Unfortunately, no one
is yet distributing it. The folks at UCLA (Yuval Tamir [tamir@cs.ucla.edu]
and Dan Greening [dgreen@cs.ucla.edu]) have it running under X and HP-UX
for both four and six bit planes. They are planning to release it eventually.

We here at C-MU have Magic running under X and 4.2 BSD, which we ported
to the Bobcats with six bit plane displays. Again, we are not distributing
our port of Magic (or 4.2 BSD) just yet. I'm not sure of what our time
schedule is for releasing the stuff, it's sort of been in limbo for several
months now.

Both of our ports are based on the port of Magic done at Stanford to
MIT's X-Windows on the MicroVax (GPX).
