Can anyone provide a software model for a codec chip? Either spice input, hand-coded model, or pointers to places to look for these would be useful. The goal is to simultate the good codec (with digital output tied to digital input), and also to insert faults and compare simulation results for faulty codecs for a master's thesis research project. Also could any codec users please let us know what (cause and/or result) typically goes wrong with codecs that you define as "defective". We are particularly interested in faults that make the codec response marginally useless, rather than totally dead (no output signal). Michele Chabot
