I am wondering how many people out there are using Xilinx chips. The reasons I am wondering are: 1) The only real software you can buy for Xilinx chips comes from Xilinx. 2) The software stinks. 3) It is too expensive for the quality you get. At SRC we have had to write a number of tools (growing all the time) to make the design environment usable for these chips. These tools include an LCA format parser, an XNF generator, a symbolic debugger that works with the chips, and glue tools. But we keep running into the poor quality of the tools from Xilinx, some of which we have not replaced (yet). I keep wondering if anyone else out there has these chips and is writing tools. Maybe we can trade tips and techniques. Anyway if you are using these chips and would like to discuss tools please e-mail me. Thanks very much, ron
