The DASS and it's working groups will meet on Thursday, June 29th from 9 AM to 5 PM and Friday, June 30th from 9 AM to 4 PM in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace. See the agenda below. Meeting rooms will be announced at the hotel. A meeting fee will be charged and will be used to cover meeting expenses and mailing costs. The fee includes admission to all working group meetings and a copy of all working group meeting minutes documentation. Lunch and snacks will be served. The cost is $50.00 for one day or $75.00 for two days. Sign up forms are available at the IEEE Computer Society publications booth or at the DASS meeting. Please sign up early. DASS Meetings Agenda Thursday, June 29th: 8:30 AM Registration 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM VHDL/EDIF Interoperability While VHDL is oriented to behavioral descriptions, EDIF is oriented to physical descriptions. This working group is addressing the relationships and communication paths between the two with an eye to developing standard practices. 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM VHDL Analysis and Standardization Group (VASG) This working group created IEEE Standard 1076 VHDL. They are now working on interpretation, clarification and maintenance issues. Working Group on Test Standards Using VHDL as a base, this working group is defining a standard language for describing the tests to be applied to electronic systems. VHDL Modeling Practices This working group is investigating the many facets of modeling electronic systems using VHDL. It will provide recommended practices and methods for using VHDL. Working Group on Design Management This working group is investigating design process and data management aspects of electronic systems design. 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Plenary Session A chance to get together, trade ideas, find out what the other working groups are doing and get to know the people involved in the DASS. 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM DASS Steering Committee This group sets policy for the DASS and its working groups. Friday, June 30th: 8:30 AM Registration 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM VHDL Intermediate Form Analysis and Standardization Group (VIFASG) This working group is evaluating intermediate formats for VHDL CAD applications. Their standard will permit CAD tool developers to easily integrate their products to VHDL CAD applications created by others. Working Group on Test Standards See above Working Group on System Design (Language) This working group is exploring the language constructs necessary to describe electronic systems at the highest level of abstraction. Not meeting at the DAC but also working under the DASS umbrella are: Working Group on System Design (Environment and Methodology) This working group is investigating the many facets of the electronic system design process. Working Group on Information Modeling This working group is concerned with identifying and codifying an abstract model of functional, behavioral and structural hardware design languages to provide a theoretical foundation. -- Larry Saunders, Cochairperson, lfs@ibm.com -- Steve Grout, MCC CAD Program | Box 200195, Austin, TX 78720 ARPA: grout@mcc.com | Phone: [512] 338-3516 UUCP: {uunet,harvard,gatech,pyramid}!cs.utexas.edu!milano!cadillac!grout
