[comp.lsi] VLSI tester recommendation sought

rick@sbcs.sunysb.edu (Rick Spanbauer) (04/05/91)

The Dept of Computer Science at SUNY/Stony Brook is considering
the purchase of a VLSI tester. We are looking for a unit that will
be used by a combination of second semester VLSI design students as
well as by various research projects. We are interested in a tester
that will allow us to test the functionality and AC parametric
characteristics of CMOS chips; the tester must be able to generate
NRZ data to at least 60 mHz. To date, we have talked to HP about
their model D50, and to IMS. We are aware of the Tektronix LV-50 (?),
and have heard of a possibly defunct company called Cadic (?).
We would be very interested to hear about any vendors we have
missed, or any comments people have on the IMS & HP units.
