One often sees technology reviews at the end of a calendar year, but I have to provide my management facts and figures now. I'm after facts and figures which would qualify the current state of the art of CMOS and BiCMOS technologies, and any records of course. What I have at present : in excess of 1 million transistors on a CMOS processor (1.4 million ?), feature sizes of 0.8microns available with 0.4microns in the offing, CMOS processor speeds commonly around the 30MHz mark, with expected 50-60MHz speeds, and experimental around 450MHz, double layer (triple ?) metal is commonplace. Any information would be appreciated (largest gate arrays, impact of BiCMOS, complexity of mixed analog/digital chips, etc.) And yes, I know my local library might have all that info, but, no, I do not have access to my local library right NOW :-) I'd prefer email responses to a.guillaume@trl.oz.au, and if there is interest I could summarise to the net. Thanks in advance Andrew Guillaume a.guillaume@trl.oz.au
