I could place the dhrystone source on a machine for anonymous ftp, but
(this is why a follow-up) the NBS has copied Jack Dongarra's netlib
software for the creation of NBSLIB. NBSLIB is a mail daemon which
parses requests like, well forget it, I'll just append it.
Send me mail if you want to use this. It's still getting it's bugs
shaken out, so I don't think it's appropriate to post the mail address
at this moment, but shortly....
This is the result of two queries: "send index" and "send index from
stones"
Caveat receptor. nbslib@icst-cmr, [Jim Cottrell] rbj@icst-cmr.arpa
-- with thanks to Eric Grosse at Bell Labs and to Jack Dongarra at
Argonne for use of the netlib software and for the netlib idea
in the first place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: WHILE NBSLIB IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR USE, THERE MAY BE SOME HITCHES
IN ITS OPERATION. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT THE
CONTENTS OF THE BENCHMARK COLLECTION ARE INCOMPLETE --
THERE IS STILL A LOT OF CLERICAL WORK TO BE DONE IN SETTING
UP INDEXES, LIBRARIES, ETC.
WHEN YOU GET THIS REPLY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHETHER IT
CONTAINED WHAT YOU REQUESTED. THANKS FOR HELPING US TEST.

===== general NBSLIB index =====
A list of libraries of material in the collection. For new users, a good
place to start is by requesting the index and catalog from info.
info - bibliography and catalog of benchmarks, goals, etc.
ada - benchmarks in the Ada Software Repository.
anl - benchmarks (like LINPACK) from Argonne National Lab.
eta - scientific codes for vector machines, contributed by
M. Humphrey of ETA.
fermi - codes used in an equipment procurement at Fermi National
Accelerator Lab.
jrr - numerical problem set for parallel and vector machines
by John Rice.
lanl - benchmarks from the Los Alamos National Lab.
mendez - Raul Mendez's benchmarks used on Japanese machines
misc - odds and ends of text (i.e., human-readable) documents
nasaames - the NAS kernel benchmark from NASA/Ames Research Ctr.
sample - a library of samples for testing nbslib
scf - codes and supporting software for executing an SCF
(Self Consistent Fields) calculation from computational
chemistry.
stones - whetstones and dhrystones
===== index for STONES =====
This directory contains various stones, whet and dhry. KMD 3/4/86
dhrystonec dhrystone benchmark, C language version
whetstonef whetstone benchmark, FORTRAN 77 version
rolling Satisfaction, Angie, Brown Sugar, Paint it Black, etc.
^^ my favorite, shows the NBS has a sense of humor..!
