Has anyone else heard that Fujitsu will be announcing, soon, a RISC microprocessor? If this is indeed fact, what are the specs for this beast? Damn, it looks like we Americans have shot ourselves in the foot again: by emphasizing simple processors, we just made it even easier for the Japanese to invade our one last bastion of market domination. Before you know it, Stolichnaya Computers will be announcing a (140-proof) RISC machine complete with a drum-shifter, postponed branches, 1/2-cycle instructions, and scraping register doors. It'll have a Czar language compiler. :-) bcase

Most likely it will be a Bzar language compiler. -- {decwrl,hplabs,ihnp4}!nsc!apple!baum (408)973-3385
