The Proceedings of the Eighth Symposium on Computer Arithmetic are
now available from the IEEE/CS, phone (714) 821-8380. The catalog
number is 87CH2419-0.
Papers presented at this conference cover a range of topics that come up
in comp.arch from time to time, including fast implementations of
IEEE arithmetic, supposed improvements upon IEEE arithmetic,
interval arithmetic, supposed improvements upon interval arithmetic,
CORDIC implementations, etc. As you can guess there is a fair
amount of flaming going on between partisans of different viewpoints
although it's more subtle than the USENET standard.
