[comp.arch] Intel VGA chips from IBM designs

johnl@ima.ISC.COM (John R. Levine) (02/09/88)

Last week's PC Week says that Intel will shortly be selling PS/2 chip sets,
which is not too surprising, since several other companies are, too. What
is quite surprising is that they (PC Week) say that the VGA and other chips
will be made from IBM's designs which Intel got in cross-licensing
agreements. Needless to say, that would give them an enormous advantage in
the "more compatible than thou" wars.

Anybody from Intel or elsewhere care to say if it's true? And when we can
expect to see them?

Curiously,
