Bay Area SUN Local User Group Meeting
************************************************************
Our next BAYSLUG meeting will be held on Thursday,
February 18, 1988 at Versatec Corp in Santa Clara, from 1 to
4PM. We have invited Max Baron of Sun Microsystems to give a
presentation on the SPARC Architecture. Max gave the
presentation at the 5th Annual Sun User Group Conference
held in San Jose and both sessions were "standing room
only" !! We were told that Max will have handouts ready this
time. This would be a good chance for those who could not
make it to the San Jose Sun User Group Conference, or who
could not make it to Max's sessions.
Yes, I know this is a national newsgroup, but if you are or
will be in the Bay Area, you might want to drop in. We have
been thinking of videotaping talks like this for the benefit
of other Sun Local User Groups. Is there a demand out there?
Versatec is located at the junction of Walsh Avenue and
Bowers Avenue in Santa Clara. From 101, take the
Bowers/Great America Parkway exit and go south on Bowers
Avenue. You will pass the Central Expressway and the next
street is Walsh Avenue. Make a LEFT turn onto Walsh Avenue
(Note: Walsh Avenue becomes Kifer Road to the west of Bowers
Avenue) and you are there. Versatec has a number of
buildings in their facility. The address is 2710 Walsh
Avenue, Building 3 (a two story black building on the
right). Tell the receptionist that you are attending the
BAYSLUG meeting, and you will be provided directions to the
meeting (North-1 conference room) site, which is just down
the hallway from the entrance.
If you come from North San Jose, Cupertino, Sunnyvale,
or Santa Clara, you might want to take local streets
directly instead of taking the Freeway.
