Actually, the IBM Technical Disclosure bulletin is not as great as it sounds. Each "disclosure" is about a page long, consists of only the barest description of the idea, and is largely incoherent. Software ideas are present, generally seem to consist of block diagrams connecting undescribed program modules together. In fact, the descriptions seem so vague I don't see how they could challenge somebody else's patent, unless there is a more detailed document that they don't disclose... University libraries often have the bulletin. Oh yeah, there's no index or table of contents either, nor any apparent grouping by general subject... stan shebs shebs@apple.com
