	...might be 1 Gb communications bandwidth.  Right now the phone
    system trunks run 1.7 Gb over fiber.  Current workstations chew up 10
    Mb Ethernets to load their 4-16 MB ram stores.  New 1GB workstations
    might want 1Gb communications to load their main stores with remote
    data.  Not everything runs like a diskless Sun, but when you ask the
    programs running on a 3G machine to find something out they may not
    access to large amounts of data held elsewhere.

    "So Giga-CAD, do all of the parts and the design of this bridge meet
    the engineering specs in the European Common Market Nations?"  

    The CAD program now has to go look at lots of data it may not have and
    compare it with data it does have.
