Well, that bit about the 3% is unfair, but if you leave it at
"I don't know of any applications where one can't recompile..."
my immediate answer is "I (the customer) have a binary licence
for my favourite dbms|text processor|spreadsheet...".

Hell, even working for computer manufacturers binary licences
are a hassle!
