The S-100 systems are still being manufactured. I have a three year old system that is running a combination of TurboDOS and MS-DOS. TurboDOS is a multi-processor version of CP/M in which each user gets their own cpu and memory. I also have in the system a Charter Information Poppy II board which is an IBM PC clone on an S-100 card I am very happy with this system. Also IBM contacted the manufactures of TurboDOS when they were considering an upgrade to PC-DOS from 1.0x to 2.00. Unfortunetly Software 2000 (the makers of TurboDOS) were into the computer industry and have an unlisted business and sales office number. If you are lucky enough to get that number you will get an answering machine, there is no real telephone attached to that line. I guess that the IBM of the early 80's just could not handle dealing with such a relaxed company as Software 2000 and let Microsoft engineer PC-DOS 2.00. -- -Jim- ***************************************************************************** * Jim Zepeda UUCP: ...!cs.utexas.edu!ut-emx!martian!rjz * * C.T.A.C.S. -- Central Texas Amiga Computer Society * * Any opinions are my own.
