BYTE got a good article out on 64-bit processors, in their march issue 1990; interesting article; have no clue if you guys are talking 64-bit registers in the CPU/IP; would be messy; either way, CISCs seem to be out of fashion, chances are atleast the IR won't be 64-bits; the IP may/maynot be:- depending upon the usage of virtual memory in commercial point of view; that leaves the data path(re: BYTE) and the FPU- which is already getting there; but once again, the question is, is the current type in processors going to be around 3 yrs. from now; i am trying to get in touch which the japanese companies who developed the fuzzy processors; having a very uneasy feeling that, it's going to be the future; -savel
