The department has recently appointed an ICL Professor of Computer Engineering
and is now seeking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Engineering. Applicants
should be graduates with experience in the design of VLSI components and the
use of VLSI CAD tools. Duties will include teaching and research.

The postholder will be expected to take a leading role in the establishment
of a new research group within the department to investigate low energy
computing techniques. The group will be developing novel VLSI approaches to
the design of high-performance microprocessors with minimal power consumption.
Esprit funding is expected to be available to support this work.

The appointment is tenable immediately.  Salary will be on the scale 11399 to
16755 pounds, according to qualifications and experience.
