Some time ago in this group, someone mentioned Steve Jobs' 3M machine, and how the 3rd 'M' could be treated as a measure of I/O bandwidth. The idea was to convert the bandwidths of keyboards, mice, etc, into pixel-equivalents, and to add them to the total of real pixels. Could the person who wrote that article please email me. (I want to mention it in passing in my lecture notes, and would hate to be accused of plagiarism). Meanwhile, can anyone please suggest any references and dates for the appearance of the 3M machine. (Please email them to me, unless you feel the rest of the readership of comp.arch would be galvanized by them). -- Malcolm SHUTE. (The AM Mollusc: v_@_ ) Disclaimer: all
