Hello: I am looking for a simulator for a 68020. It should be written in C, and ideally should run under UNIX. I need this because I am working on the compilation of real-time programs, and in particular predicting their excution time. I would like to use the simulator to execute the code I produce, and to enable me to account for the execution time of each instruction. I see the simulator as being an intermediate step toward the actual hardware. I would plan to enhance the simulation in a stepwise manner to permit me to account for the effects of instruction prefetch, caching, memory refreesh and the like. I posted this to the 68k interest group and the only replies I got were other people interested in having a simulator too. Everyone seems convinced it must exist, but nobody has had one yet. Thanks Douglas Niehaus niehaus@tempo.cs.umass.edu
