Does anyone know of any articles where VRAMS(Video RAMS) have been used as components of system memory? I guess this was one of the suggestions for Am29000 which requires very high instruction bandwidth. -satish satish@cs.albany.edu

The video-rate shift register ports on the VRAM were connected to the vector hardware; the "ordinary" parallel port was connected to an INMOS T414-15 transputer as external memory. The T-20 had 16 vector nodes, each with their own private 1MB of VRAM. -- Andy Pfiffer (503) 645-1886 apfiffer@admin.ogi.edu Formerly w/ Cogent Research, Formerly w/ Topologix, Formerly w/ Theory Center.
