[comp.arch] life-time in FIFO-caches and LRU-caches

? Does anybody know references to the problem of life-time 
? in FIFO-caches and LRU-caches ? 

They could be useful in my research on the problem below:

> If a program is run on a shared cache machine with uniform
> hit-ratio p, then what will the communication-overhead be
> if the same program is run on a distributed memory machine ?
