Please, no flames about captives... I have two local frogs which will be my wards for at least the remainder of August, and I'm finding very little in the way of good amphibian-care reference material. These two seem comfortable and healthy, and until I can return them I'd like to keep them that way. I know that they will eat bits of hamburger dangled on a thread, but what I don't know is how much or how often. They seem to 'chew' for a long time before mounting another attack, but I would expect them to eat more than 1/2 tsp of ground per day! Then there's the subject of their native cuisine: are there any flying insects that I shouldn't feed them? I wouldn't think wasps or bees would go down very well, but you never know... Along related lines, can anyone recommend a good field-guide to Ontario amphibians? And one final question: when it comes time to release the duo, how important is proximity to their homelands or to others of the same kind? -- Gary Murphy - Cognos Incorporated - (613) 738-1338 x5537 3755 Riverside Dr - P.O.
